The Ubuntu Fund Initiative is an idea which is the brain child of two courageous sons of Africa, Sammy Aryee and Max Koffi. The ultimate goal of the initiative is to empower Africans to channel their own destiny. The Ubuntu Fund Initiative is motivated by the following challenges:
- The limited impact of remittances on the development at macro-economic level in African societies.
- The limited involvement by African migrants in initiating macro-economic investments in their countries of origin.
- The limited number of projects being funded by Dutch or EU institutions, banks or NGO’s. The initiative aims to face these challenges by mobilizing and motivating African migrants living in The Netherlands to start a collective investment fund called UBUNTU FUND. Through combining assets, we can create a larger, well-diversified portfolio, in order to invest in macro-economic businesses with high return on investment in Africa.
